The Project Management Agency at DLR

The Project Management Agency – part of the German Aerospace Center (PT-DLR) – is the largest funding agency working for the German Ministry for Education and Science (BMBF) and other governmental bodies. It provides direct services to the Ministry and administers, also for the BMBF, the support for German Universities, public research institutions and industries. PT-DLR has been granted ISO 9001:2000 certificate.

The International Bureau (IB) at PT-DLR supports bilateral cooperation programmes in S&T with about 50 countries around the world in order to facilitate the preparation and implementation of international cooperation of German institutions. For these programmes BMBF provides an annual budget of approx. 20 Mio Euro. In addition, in close cooperation with BMBF, the IB coordinates a number of accompanying measures to set up a framework for the stimulation of future cooperation. The IB supports the Ministry especially in its active participation in the SFIC, a high-level political advisory body of Member States and the European Commission which defines the strategy for more coherent EU STI activities and policies towards third countries.

IB has also a wide experience in coordinating and participating in EU-funded projects, focusing on ERANETs, INCONETs, BILATs and ACCESS4EU-activities. At present the IB is involved in 24 INCO projects, coordinating 6 of them.
